Rochee Thumbnails

I did these rough sketches in the beginning to have an overview of the story. It also helps me to think about the composition for each page. As you can see, everything is still very raw with lots of scribblings. :)

Rochee Manuscript

Submission for the initiative requires the manuscript as well as all the illustrations for the book. The illustrations can be without colour but must be accompanied by a fully-coloured sample which you can see in my illustration blog.

Inking Rochee

A few shots I took during the inking stage.

All illustrations were drawn on Daler Rowney A2 size Fine Grain - Heavy Weight paper with a nib pen and china ink. Although it took longer to ink with a nib pen, I liked how the irregular lines turned out. :)
